Because we were tired of boring practical jackets, only made for the mountains and the wild, we decided to make our own.
Meet the Urban Jacket, designed and built for the way we actually live.
From cycling to a café, running for a bus, going on a day hike, or chilling in a beer garden...
Our jacket is made to - quite literally - have your back, come rain or shine.
You're not only giving new jobs to unemployed plastic bottles, you're also making huge savings on water and energy used.
Received my jacket recently and I think its brilliant!! I love the design and it's so functional with loads of handy pockets. Very well made. I really can't complain. I might order one for the boyf if he is lucky!!
Would love to see more wacky colour choices and maybe some jackets for kids so I can kit out the whole family!!
Thrilled to bits with my Urban Jacket. I’ve been looking for a dog walking jacket for quite some time, something that was super practical but not boring. I’ve worn it everyday since I’ve had it thanks to the usual English summer rain, and it makes me very happy, and easy for the kids to spot in the woods too! My fav feature is the two way zip.
The design of the jacket is excellent -- inventive as feck! Folds completely into its own pocket, which doubles as a carry bag which can be clipped onto a belt. The hood folds away into the collar easily without leaving an ugly, lumpy ridge.
I'm also a big fan of decent pockets -- the hip pockets are deep and comfy: decent. There are two (one zipped one open) inner pockets: decent.
As for water proofing: I got caught in a fckn Jurassic Park style downpour wearing it; my head were soaked through in literal seconds, but the jacket kept my upper half bone dry!
It's also surprisingly warm for an anorak! In summer showers it can get a little stuffy but - again, back to FABULOUS design - the armpit sips do help to relieve this to a degree. I have had a couple of days where I couldn't get a comfy cool-but-dry balance, though.
I wish the hood was slightly bigger -- it's tough to get my head phones under it comfortably, but I do credit the fact that the hood is easy to fold away. I would probably prefer it to be a little bigger though.
Finally, the wrist cuffs have the degrees of tightness available, which is really good -- you can seal yourself in, but I can also wear it with the sleeves rolled up (arguable because I have VERY skinny arms).
All in all I LOVE this jacket.
Would bang again.
I received my Urban Jacket last week and I have been wearing it basically everyday since!
It is truly waterproof and very weather-versatile, for it is comfortably warm but also ventilates when you cycle.
The jacket is lightweight and absolutely gorgeous!
The pockets are super usefull as well and I love the solution you found for the hoodie.
My only remark is on the external pockets' zippers. As some other reviews point out, they are a little jammed to open - maybe is a matter of wearing them out a bit?
Regardless, I love the jacket and would certainly recommend it!
Love the jacket, was bought as a Father’s Day present. Looks brilliant, such a great colour and so many useful features to the jacket. Really like that it’s recycling materials too.
Very happy with the jacket. Both stylish and practical.
It's so great to find a lightweight, waterproof jacket that is not only sustainably made, but also suits my style. Would definitely recommend.
The fabric feels durable and smooth, there's pockets galore, it is bright and colourful, it's sustainably resourced, and it is truly water repellent.
Really good customer service too - quick response & my exchange was processed very quickly.
I'm very happy with my purchase. Thanks very much!
Creativity, Colour, (environmental) Consciousness!
Wonderful jacket - it shall be a firm favourite.
I'd been saving up to buy a Labo Mano for a long time, and I'm so glad I did. It's a joy. The texture, the colour, the mission. It's one of my favourite purchases, ever.
Waterproof and great that hidden pockets are on both sides. Gives just enough warmth to get me through most of the winter months here in Australia.
I love my new coat; Striking colour and has so many pockets so it's not only stylish but practical. I paid close attention to the size guide and bought a large because I have quite big hips but the fact you can unzip the coat from the bottom is a great addition to allow for more room. I keep finding new little features to the coat I haven't previously noticed, and the fact you can pack it up into its pocket is amazing (although I am yet to try this). Well worth the money paid and service was great! All I need now is a rainy day to wear it!
I totally love this jacket!...it's so comfy, the material is soft...not like the stuff a quick throw-on mac might be made of so it's also not rustly stuff either. Seems perfect for whatever the weather throws at you...it's keeping the wind chill off me and has been great in the rain so far. The adjustable hood is probably the best I've found in a jacket...hoods usually fall right over my face, don't stay up and if I try to draw them in they still end up covering my eyes and being really annoying. I love that this is so bright and colourful, makes me feel happy. And a big bonus that it packs into its pocket! The reversible reflective cuffs are a super idea. Great idea for cycling or just walking in the dark. I also like that it is made from recycled plastic bottles ...makes me feel like I am contributing to doing a tiny bit of good for the world. The inventor of this jacket is an artistic imaginative genious. I could go on and on I'm sure!
Great coat. The hood adjustments are really useful, love the pattern!the pockets are really big and I like having the vents under the arms. Haven't worn it riding yet but I will appreciate the hood pocket when I do. Love what the company is doing, and the quality of the design shows.
I love this coat. I tested it out on a particularly wet and wi dy walk across the English countryside and it lived up to the hype. Kept me warm and dry and looking fly!:D
I love all the pockets and secret armpit zips and the environmentally friendly vibe.
I initially bought the jacket to cover me in rainy situations cycling through Amsterdam, where I live. But it so versatile. It’s super light and actually ended up being the perfect jacket for a mini break I took, where I used it for chilly evenings on the beach and wet-ish rides whilst sailing. I bought the green in size small and am so happy with it! Definitely recommend :)
Really well designed and put together jacket very happy with the customer service too
I had a feeling I was going to love my jacket Marker- Urban printed jacket from the moment I purchased it! The website is so descriptive and the features so well pictured that I felt like I knew exactly what I was getting. My first wear was on the weekend, and I received so many compliments about the look, the features, and benefits for the environment. It just made me feel like I was the coolest kid on the block. :) love, love, love it - winning all round. Thanks Labo Mono! x
Super cool jacket with so many pockets. Versatile for variable London weather.
I recently noticed all my hiking clothes are black so I wanted to find something to brighten up my adventure wardrobe. However, I hated the typical colour schemes offered by other outdoor companies. I was scrolling through Instagram and discovered Labo Mono's jacket and was instantly sold! I wasn't sure about the sizing so I ordered both a Small and a Medium (I am 5'3 and a size 10). The Medium is a better fit around my bum and hips but I decided to go with the Small in the end as it fits better everywhere else. Plus, I got around the tightness in the bum/hip area by using the elastic ties at the bottom of the jacket to tuck the jacket under and create a shorter looking jacket which I actually prefer!
I had been wanting the jacket for a while so took advantage of a recent sale.
It looks really nice and well made. I’ve got cobalt blue. I got a small size which feels the right size for me. I’m 5”6 and a UK 10 and I wanted the jacket to feel spacious but not too big so happy with my choice. Because of corona lockdown and unusually good weather I haven’t had the chance to test it out much but went out into the rain briefly today and it felt like it will be reliably waterproof. I love all the little pockets and details.
Getting a good raincoat is a big purchase especially if you live in Manchester like me so feels good spending the money on something sustainable and ethical.
I bought this jacket because I'd wanted it for a really long time - no time like the present!!! I ordered a couple of sizes as I couldn't quite believe that the XXS was the correct choice for me but the guide said so based on my measurements! I ended up getting the XS and S - I kept the S because I prefer a looser fit and I thought in winter when I wore big jumpers I'd need the space! Either way, what a beautiful jacket!!! So intricate and well made, love the pattern (I was worried getting white that it would look really dirty but it was by far my favourite pattern so I went for it anyway!!) and it's proper waterproof as well as being really warm too! Returning the jacket I didn't want to keep was super easy - Ali came pick it up from my house and the refund was processed pretty much the following day (unheard of)
The jacket seems perfect but i still can't test it. No rain since one month and weather like in summer! There is just one problem : Switzerland is not a good place for customs duty ! 38 £ is too expansive. Too bad.
I ordered my new coat just before we went into lockdown here in the UK, so while I haven't been able to test it out properly just yet, I can still safely say I love it! I'm a petite person (5'1, size 6) and the XXS fits me just right.
Nice look and useful features!
All you need for a cyclist looking for sustainable cloth
I love this this smart and useful little jacket. The fabric is lovely and soft, but appears to be really very water repellent, it's got me wishing for a little drizzle! I was apprehensive about spending quite a lot on a jacket I've never seen, but you really do get what you pay for it's fantastic quality.
I chose the green jacket - love the colour and the contrast with the orange detailing on the zips.
I went for a small size in the end - it works better for cycling. I'm usually an 8 and am 5'6".
When lock down is over I can't wait to get back on the bike with this!
It’s a great jacket. It fits well, the fabric is soft and good quality, the green colour reminds me of forests in summer after the rain... I can’t wait to wear when we are released from this lockdown!
Looks awesome, lightweight, warm but not too hot, loads of pockets, the best cycling jacket I've owned! It's such a no brainer.
Excellent service, fit and price.
Jacket itself is amazing quality and has plenty of secret pockets for me to lose my belongs in. Great for my bike commute to and from work. And customer service was absolutely amazing. Would and have recommended to anyone.
It’s beautiful to behold and a pleasure to wear...the details are amazing!
don’t recall where I heard about LaboMono- but as soon as I read about it and I was sold. Loved the look & build and amazing journey of how the product is made. keep it up.
Really cool and nice jacket. I bought it mainly for cycling thinking that it will not be enough for cold weather without any activity involved, but it is much warmer than I expected.
I’ve been looking for a replacement to my faithful old blue jacket... something waterproof with a hood that doesn’t look like a school cagoule. It is warm, super cool design, and the zips and little pockets mean I don’t have to carry a bag any more! I had a small sizing issue and Ali couldn’t have been more helpful. 5 million stars out of 5!!
I love my jacket, it's practical and stylish, exactly what I need. But I nearly sent it back in protest at this so-called "unisex" sizing. What you've actually done is just gone for the "male as standard", completely erasing the assigned-female and trans* experiences. I have come to expect this from mainstream fashion retailers, but hope for better from more forward thinking brands like Labo Mono. If you really want to produce inclusive jacket sizes for all, check out brands such as "gender free world" to see how it can be done.
I was looking for something functional that wasn’t just your standard boring rain jacket. I found just that and super happy with it. You can tell it has been designed with a lot of care and thought.
My husband and I ordered jackets in different colours and we both LOVE them. They helped us survive storm Denis when our friends wearing big name waterproofs got soaked.
I am a size 10 and ordered a small and it's roomy but good. My husband originally ordered a large (his normal size) but sized down to a medium which fits much better. The return was so easy and super speedy!
Fantastic coat. Comfortable, lightweight but super warm. I love it.
Slim fit and gorgeous colour and awesome for cycling !
I'm super impressed with the jacket - the colour is vibrant, the white and orange zipper looks pretty modern and fashionable, the service was quick and easy, and the fit is great!
Super comfy and lightweight. Worn it in minus degrees recently with a single base layer underneath and it was perfect. I did however stay true to size even though it says to size down for women - preferred having a bit more room to move around and fit a jumper underneath. No regrets!
