You're not only giving new jobs to unemployed plastic bottles, you're also making huge savings on water and energy produced.
So happy about my new jacket!
I'm really happy about my first Labo Mono jacket. I love the design (Marker). I'm thinking about buying a second one :)
Just tried it out and I'm really impressed. The things I thought would work well did and it's much warmer than it seems. The adjustable cuffs are a dream and the stretch in them meant even though I forgot to put my wheelchair gloves on before putting my jacket on I didn't have to take the jacket off and put the gloves on and put the jacket back on 😅 the reach in the arms is awesome for full use of wheels. Another thing I really like is the o ring pull this is actually super helpful for people who have issues with grip or holding onto small things. The hood was a bit hard for me to get out so for wheelchair users with dexterity worse than mine that could be an issue but once out it was easy to use and actually stayed up which is a huge issue wheelchair users have. I'm also in love with the pattern! It's so nice to have a piece of clothing that fits my access needs and also looks fashionable.
Really please with it. Fits well, waterproof, large pockets... Perfect.
I really like the soft feel of the material and being able to see proper with the hood up. I love that it is made of re-used plastic bottles. It is also actually waterproof and not many jackets are in Scotland.
I saw this raincoat on a suggested add on Instagram and was instantly drawn in due to it being made from recycled bottles. I’d been on the hunt for a new raincoat and loved the whole concept and colours of this brand! So with my birthday coming up it was the perfect birthday present! After much deliberation I settled on the green and I absolutely LOVE it! Really well made, so many great features, really comfy and so many useful pockets! I particularly like how deep the front ones are and the secret arm pocket it great for storing emergency biscuits! Ideal when you have a toddler in need of bribery haha! The only problem I found was the size, the advice for sizing on the website is a bit confusing and according to this advice I should have gone for an XXS but I know I’m not that small so went for an XS this however was too small. When I got in touch about an exchange they got back very quickly, were super helpful and because I lived local even met me to exchange the coat! Fantastic customer service! Long story short great brand, great coat!
I love this jacket! It's been a bit too cold in Canada to wear it often, but it's perfect for wet snow days out. Love the bright colors and many pocket options!
I love this jacket so much! The pattern and colours as well as the zipped pockets, hood with extra brim to stop rain getting on my glasses and the reflector flaps on the wrists, it's the bee's knees!
I've been using it in summer time, near the campfire to get a good rest from mosquito's. Now using it everyday on my moped to stay dry under or cut the wind from going into my clothes. Easily fits in my bag, I love it. Didn't size up and fits perfectly with a hoodie, I can even (tightly but still can) put it on top of a small jacket, due to the subtle elasticity in the fabric. If you plan to use it on something bigger, I would size up. Pockets are well placed and sized. Good quality zippers, satisfying to use. Every parts in it feel like quality stuff. Glad I participated in the kickstarter. Other than the practical stuff, I love the designs and the ethical and friendly marketing approach from Ali.
Lovely soft to the touch jacket - loving the inside pockets and sleeve pockets too very snazzy ;) and practical with functional hood and fully waterproof! Looking forward to what might come next...
Very happy with my fabolously green jacket, especially the hood which fits really well over a biking/climbing helmet and doesn't restrict my head movements. Quality feels really good! My only minor gripe is that the arms are a little bit short (size S and 179 cm)
I'm super happy to have backed the kickstarter for the Urban jacket and really pleased with the product, I wear it everyday!
This is a really well thought out jacket. It's got all sorts of little thoughtful touches, like all the hidden zip pockets, pocket sizes that you can actually fit a women's wallet in, a length that actually covers your butt, the high viz cuffs, armpit ventilation, and my favourite, the stretchiness. I think there are enough reasons to buy it even if you don't care that it's made of recycled plastic bottles. The only thing I'd put on my wishlist for future versions would be a zipper that slides slightly more easily, so you can do it up with one hand while you're cycling.
An amazing quality product, amazing textures and plenty of small details that make the difference from the other brands. There is so many hidden features like the sleeves pockets, under arms zip... Thanks a lot I don't regret it at all
Received this jacket a few weeks ago, just before the colder months and was able to use it a few times (the weather QUICKLY changed to arctic weather here in eastern canada!)
Very very good jacket - keeps you warm (unless in sub-zero temps, but it isn't designed for that!), keeps you dry, saves you from the wind, and it is very light. I love the colours too! My girlfriend got the green one and I got the blue one, which have the perfect colour tones!
I definitely recommend this jacket
I was looking for a new waterproof jacket and within a few days a targeted Instagram ad hit my feed. I was immediately intrigued!
I know that this jacket has been branded towards cyclists (for good reasons, the reflecting parts and all), but I don't cycle very often and still love wearing it! It's comfy and protects me perfectly when raining, and rain in the UK is just a normal day (when September starts) so it helps me to stay warm and dry every day. I love the vibrant pattern design, it matches well my clothes and style, and I fell comfortable to wear it when hanging out. Not your usual jacket!
I was excited about the jacket before it arrived, but once it did, I was impressed with how well done it is. The cut is very nice (not too tight in the neck like so many jackets I've purchased), the reflector flaps are delightful, the zipper is fun to play with—I could go on and on. The inner pocket is such a nice touch and perfect for carrying my phone while I ride my bike. I'm buying another jacket so that I won't so conspicuously be wearing the same one every day.
Been living with the Urban Jacket in Salamander M for around a month now. Start off by saying I really love this jacket. I'm 6ft2 slim build and the Medium is long enough for when I cycle and still fitted to be comfy. It's super highly visible which makes me feel safe when cycling through the city on my commutes. I've used it for a variety of things; taken it up Snowdon in 4degC, worn it to client meetings, general hikes, walks and bike rides. It performs well at all of these things but there are a few things that draw it back. When cycling it can get a bit sweaty in the jacket - I'm a relatively athletic guy but if I commute in above 9degC in the jacket even with the pit vents open I tend to get a little sweaty (commute its less than 20 mins - no rucksack). The cuffs also I found a little tight even though they are elasticated with the 2 different tightness options - really clever how they did this with a reversible strap, however, I would personally like a little wider opening to start with. Hidden pockets on the inside are a really great feature, and usefully the perfect sizes to fit all the things I tend to carry when commuting - ID, phone, AirPods. The tightening cords have just about the right length in them to tailor the hood and the base of the jacket to get more customisation in fit when in some more extreme weather circumstances too. The slight stretch in the material also gives it a comfortable feel when being slightly more active in the jacket.
Overall this jacket is great - there are a few things that are drawbacks to this jacket but the positive heavily outweighs the negative, especially at the price point. It is incredible value for money. In terms of performance I would put in a similar bracket to the Patagonia Could Ridge or Quandry, but at a much more accessible price point. Quality jacket for a great price.
Its a very useful jacket, I use it every day for my daily bike rides, even for the office. My colleagues like it too!
the multitudes of pockets are very practical, especially for the transport card! I recommend 100%
So. As I had to move to Paris, I thought "Well, it might be an great idea to ride a bike instead of sweating with strangers in the metro". Then I thought "but hum, it's gonna rain a lot. Jo, you don't have any rain clothes. Oh Jo, you're gonna regret it, you'll pick the NAVIGO pass for surOH WAIT WHAT IS THIS BRAND NEW JACKET LABOMONO IS LAUNCHING ?"
And now, what do I think about it ? I'm wearing it everyday since I've received it and I'm in love with it.
The pros : The windbreaker is efficient, as well as the waterproof effect. For the first time in my life, I can cycle under the rain without sweating like a pig. Thank you so much for that. My new co-workers are thankful to you too. The hood is easily and smartly adjustable. Even if you're tall, the jacket nicely covers your butt in any circumstances. Pockets are super big and handy. As I'm using it so frequently, I didn't have the time to try the packable aspect of it, but I'm sure it works well ! Finally, I love green. And the reflective mode is cute. Cute because it will never be enough to survive in the jungle that is Paris. Or maybe you saved my life during this whole time. We'll never know.
The tiny cons if you're asking me : It might be because I should have picked a size bigger, but the first time I tried to put my hands in the pockets, it felt a bit weird. I'm not used to have pockets so far from each other, but now it's completely okay. Especially if it gives the packable option to the jacket. My second true recommendation would be about the hood and the velcro that closes it. I would have reversed the smooth and the scratchy side, because when the hood mood is on, the scratchy side is exposed and can get easily caught in random stuff. Maybe you thought about it and it's better this way, I don't know!
That's all for me, thanks again ! It would have been a pleasure to send you a photo of me testing the jacket under the shower, but you know Paris, my appartement is too small for me and a photographer.
I've been using my Labo mono for two weeks now and I discover a new reason to love it every day. It's really impressive how much thought has gone into these jackets. Super comfortable and super functional. Very happy customer :)!
i am happy about my new jacket and i love the color! It´s very functional, all the pockets are useful and at a good spot. Even though it was claimed as a city jacket I somehow hoped the water resilience would be even better. It´s enough for short ways in a strong rain but if the jacket doesn't have time to dry and i have to change my position quite often throughout a rainy day it get´s a little wet for example on the shoulders. Also the zippers are sometimes not completely fluent to use.
I adore the design, the enormous pockets, and the hood that works. It is a bit narrow on my hips, but I can always have some more space by unzipping from below. I have yet to put it through its paces in torrential rain, but it's been fantastic so far.
Love the design and all the little details which are perfect for cycling. Can't wait to see the next pattern collections ;)
The attention to details even the smallest is insane and I'm a glad backer of this project. Though, due to the tight collar, I find it difficult to wear it over a hoodie and the lining of the sleeves is a little loose for my liking.
Overall a great jacket for those chilly spring mornings or gloomy fall afternoons.
I love the colors and I’m getting a lot of positive feedbacks!
... with this jacket. But only to have a sustainable product is to achieve 50% when we talk about clothes! This jacket for me is a game changer because of the connection between functionality, colours/prints, sustainability and fun! Every zip is on the right place, the quality is outstanding. By the way, the outer and inner pockets are right in size and function (wallet/phone)... so all in all I think, if they create a longer jacket with an inner (warming) sleeve, I would buy the next Labo Mono thing for winter time😎
Love the pattern. The design is awesome. Love all the pockets - big deep outer pockets, inner pocket with zip, secret sleeve pockets. It has adjustable wrists and hip size. Great big hood with peak. Waterproof. Striking design. Great customer service. Love!
I'm glad I have found Ali and his jackets. Lightweight and comfortable, functional, modern and rich in details. The perfect piece for outdoor activities. Well done!
Definitely glad to have supported this project. Couldn't be happier with such a cool and comfortable jacket. Can't wait to see what's new in the future.
I am so glad I participated in this crowdfunding. The jacket fits all my needs when cycling and feels and looks superb. I am getting all the compliments while being kept dry and warm, but not sweaty! It is very difficult to find something like this in an urban cycling jacket. Every little detail has been designed with a lot of thought: the inside pockets, the hoodie, the elasticated bottom and the reflective bands at the wrists.
I am very happy to give it 5 stars and will recommend them to everyone.
Cool pattern, convenient hood for cycling, waterproof, design, overall well-thought-out design, environmentally-friendly production process
Finally a jacket that is properly functional without being boring. There are so many pockets of useful size and shape, the hood folds away, there are optional reflective strips for night mode, it's waterproof, breathable and there's a double ended zip. PLUS it looks beautiful (I'd buy it just for the multi-coloured print because I like bright shiny things). It feels soft and premium and it uses ex-bottles. PERF.
I have been wearing the jacket every day I cycle since I got it :) It's perfectly breathable, I love the reflective wrist straps and the bottom zipper to have more leg room. Definitely 5 well deserved stars!
This jacket is amazing, I love the pockets in the sleeves to hold your transport or bank cardsand the hood is really well thought. I got to use it first time last week under heavy rain and I was happy it kept me dry and warm.
It is indeed warmer than I knew which makes me even more glad I participated to the crowdfunding.
I can't wait to see the next designs and the future of Labo Mono.
Absolutely love the look & feel of these jackets - would never guess they're made from recycled plastic bottles! All the intricate little details really make you appreciate how Ali the wizard has put the jacket together for not only stylishness and rain/wind protection, but functionality, too. Richard and I find ourselves fiddling with all the hidden pockets for no reason all the time (especially the arm pit ones, so fun).
All in all, the Urban Jacket seems the superior choice for bikers, commuters and regular folk like myself - you won't find anything like it on the market!
Great rain jacket, really happy with how it fits (doesn't puff out anywhere) and lots of neat features! The zippers are a little stiff but I'm thinking they'll loosen up with repeated use.
